Good afternoon, and thank you for your commitment to volunteer for Rock the Block on Friday, April 17th!
To ensure everyone has a safe and successful volunteer day, this webpage contains a brief overview of Habitat basics and what you will need to know for Friday.
Thank you again for partnering with us and helping families in our community to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Day-of Information
Schedule

Work time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Clean up time: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Arrival: Please arrive by 8:45 a.m. to check in, participate in our welcome and safety briefing, and enjoy a donut!

Work will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Check-In

Location: 8500 Vagabond Rd., Charlotte, NC

Stop by the check-in tent upon arrival to:

Complete or confirm your volunteer liability waiver

Pick up your nametag

A porta-potty and first aid kit will be available near the check-in area
Parking

Street parking is available but the roads in the area are narrow. Please park on Crestshire Rd, Buccaneer Rd., or Lorelei Place.

Please be mindful not to block driveways or mailboxes.
Food & Drinks

Pizza will be provided for lunch.

If you have dietary restrictions, please bring your own bagged lunch.

Water, Gatorade, and snacks will be provided throughout the day.
What To Bring

A folding chair for lunch and breaks

Work gloves

Sunscreen, hat, and bug spray

Any favorite yard tools (we’ll have plenty on-site too) - be sure to mark them with your name.
What To Wear

Dress for the weather.

A Realtors Care Day shirt will be provided for you.

About Greater Matthews Habitat for Humanity
Community-level Habitat for Humanity offices serve a specific community on behalf of Habitat for Humanity International. Each local office coordinates all aspects of local home building in its local area.
Our Greater Matthews office serves Matthews, Mint Hill, and Stallings. We were incorporated as a nonprofit organization on July 10, 1989. To date, with the help of many hardworking and committed volunteers and partner families, we have built over 116 homes in 9 neighborhoods in the Greater Matthews community.
