By providing affordable home repairs, our Critical Home Repair Program preserves homeownership for low-income residents while alleviating critical health and safety concerns. Over 68% of Matthews affordable housing stock is in need of significant repairs and, in many cases, owners are seniors living on fixed incomes who cannot afford to repair their homes and are in jeopardy of being displaced or living in hazardous conditions.
Repairs addressed by our program vary in severity from elemental safety concerns as simple as basic accessibility modifications to addressing extremely severe or life-threatening living conditions.
